Folia supports Anthropic Claude (recommended — uses document type for PDF accuracy) and OpenAI GPT-4o. You bring your own API keys — there are no per-extraction fees from Folia. You can configure multiple providers and set a default.
Yes, completely. Folia runs as a Docker container on your own hardware (NAS, VPS, or server). Your receipt images, extracted data, and reports never leave your infrastructure. Only AI extraction calls are sent to your chosen provider (Anthropic/OpenAI) — and you control those API keys.
Folia supports PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, WebP, and BMP — up to 50 MB per file. PDFs are processed natively by the AI pipeline (no conversion needed for Anthropic). You can also batch-upload multiple files at once.
Folia includes 24 built-in CRA T2125 expense categories (advertising, meals, motor vehicle, office expenses, etc.) with English and French labels. Receipts are tagged to these categories during extraction. The T2125 report groups expenses by category code and shows line totals — ready for your tax software or accountant.
